Silver Legend of KPR

5Peruvian Royal Inca Legend x KPR Mikasa

DOB: 9/9/2002

ARI: 812088

The most remarkable thing about this excellent tuxedoed silver gray herdsire is his consistency.  Whether you look at his own show career or the quality and uniformity of his offspring, Silver Legend stands virtually unrivaled by other gray studs in North America.

Silver Legend of KPR awards:

Empire Extravaganza 2003; MSG yearling male blue ribbon and Gray Male Color Champion

Southern Select 2004; MSG yearling male blue ribbon and Gray Male Color Champion

Virginia Classic 2004; MSG yearling male blue ribbon and Gray Male Color Champion

North American 2004; MSG yearling male blue ribbon and Gray Male Color Champion

MAPACA 2004; MSG yearling male blue ribbon and Gray Male Color Champion

AOBA 2004; MSG yearling male blue ribbon, Juvinile gray male fleece blue ribbon,  and Gray Male Color Champion

Empire Extravaganza 2004; Gray male fleece blue ribbon and Gray fleece Color Champion

Virginia Classic 2008; Get of sire blue ribbon (1/5)

His own show career is impressive by itself.  He was shown as a yearling only, winning 7 consecutive color banners before being retired to stud. As noteworthy as winning 7 color banners is (and he was the first gray male ever to do so), Silver Legend did it the hard way, facing all of the toughest competition of 2004, and winning at the most competitive shows in the country.

Show career aside, the real value of a herdsire is how well he can pass on his excellent qualities.  With a tuxedoed gray stud this means not only how good his cria are, but also how consistently his gray pattern is passed on to his cria.

In our breeding program Silver Legend has produced 82% tuxedo gray cria when bred to tuxedo gray. Even more remarkably, at last count he has produced tuxedo gray 71% of the time when bred to solid color.

And how good are his cria? So far 16 of his cria have been shown (that we know of). To date (as of April 2010) these offspring have won 31 banners and 62 blue ribbons. Silvi's offspring have been shown against the toughest competition in the country, often in Level V shows, and have bannered in the AOBA national show in both halter and fleece competition.

Three of his get will be shown at the 2010 MAPACA Jubilee, including A Paca Fun's Silver Sensation (MSG yearling female), A Paca Fun's Norrington (TB yearling male), and A Paca Fun's Intrigue (MSG 3 yr old male).
