Great Pyrenees PuppiesGreat Pyrenees Puppies

Many of you who have visited the farm have been greeted by our big, lumbering Great Pyrenees dog named Hank.  This wonderful livestock guardian dog has been working for us almost 10 years now ( that 75 years in people's age) and he deserves a little help.  Actually, he needs to retire!  I've already caught him curled up in the barn on the heating mat, sound asleep instead of doing his sentry duty...oh well.

Now for the puppies. George and Xena were born on an alpaca farm in Washington State (Wings and a Prayer Alpacas) on October 1, 2008.  Having pups born on an alpaca farm was a non-negotiable for us and these folks did a great job getting them introduced to their herd.  After traveling some 3,000 miles in a trailer full of alpacas, they arrived at our farm on January 22 and none of our lives have been the same since.   Not mine, not the alpacas', and certainly not Hank's.

I'm starting a blog to keep folks posted on the puppies growth, training and antics.  We'd enjoy your comments and thoughts as you follow along on this adventure.
