2009 Carolina Celebration Results

RibbonsContinuing our string of show ring successes, A Paca Fun Farm was well represented in the third annual Carolina Alpaca Celebration show, February 21-22 2009. CABO was once again a strong level IV AOBA certified show, with many nationally known farms in attendance.

We showed 9 alpacas in total, 7 of those were bred from both sires AND dams in our own breeding program. The results; all 9 alpacas placed, 6 of 9 blue ribboned, and 3 were banner winners.

Two of our studs were well represented at CABO, with multiple cria exhibited.

Stetson of Peru had 2 cria in the championship round.  A Paca Fun’s Memphis, entered in the brown juvenile huacaya class placed a strong first, and was given a second look for a banner. His older sister, A Paca Fun’s Sedona was blue ribbon winner and color champion for her second show in a row in the brown female huacaya color group.
Silver Legend of KPR also had 2 cria in the championship round. A Paca Fun’s Norrington, entered in the juvenile black huacaya male class placed first in a class of 12. A Paca Fun’s Intrigue, a light silver gray male huacaya, placed first and was awarded the reserve color championship. This is his second banner in a row as well. Norrington

Brilliance’s April was a new banner winner for us. She had blue ribboned in her previous two shows. With more maturity and a bit more size she was up to the challenge of the banner round, winning the huacaya multi color championship. April is still a juvenile at 10 months of age.

5 of the 9 alpacas show at CABA, including one color champion, are juveniles. We look forward to their continued success during the 2009 and 2010 show season.

Next up for us is the Virginia Classic. Stop by and say hello if you are at the show!
